JUST ONE MORE ASYM Wiki Gamemodes Guide

Every game mode explained — from Standard to Death Sentence and beyond.

Last updated:

JUST ONE MORE ASYM features several game modes that change how matches play out. Each mode offers a unique twist on the core asymmetrical hunt. This hub explains what is live today, what was removed, and what is still in development — with links to deep guides for the modes that matter most.

Standard mode

The core JOMA experience and the default way most players learn the game:

  • Format: 4v16 — 1 AI Aberrant + 3 player Adversaries vs 16 Survivors.
  • Objective: Survivors must survive until time runs out. Hunters must eliminate all Survivors.
  • Available: Always.
  • Key threats: Seeker chases, Guilt commits, player Adversary dives, and Berserk when the Aberrant is the last hunter standing.

Standard is where you learn stamina, peel lanes, and caller habits before special rounds spike difficulty. Start with Getting Started and Stamina Management.

Survivor picks: Doctor for sustain, Shielder (~450 P) for peel. Hunter picks: Spotter (free) for intel, then kit-specific paths on Adversaries.

Death Sentence

A special round triggered roughly every fifteen Standard rounds:

  • Trigger: Activates automatically after ~15 standard rounds in a session cadence.
  • Archfactor: A powerful boss (Deathwatch-related content in community footage) appears.
  • Enhancements: All characters gain sprint and attribute boosts.
  • Strategy: Survivors must coordinate to survive the enhanced threat — scatter and you feed.

Death Sentence overlaps with update families like Power & Speed when boss showcases appear in the same build. Treat special rounds as a rules swap, not “Standard but slightly harder.”

Community-reported paper collection (alpha tip)

Some players report that special rounds may also involve collecting papers on certain maps — Green Garden shows up most in community footage. This is not officially documented; alpha builds may change or drop the mechanic. The ~15-round cadence may still apply on its own. If you see paper interactables, assign one Survivor to route them while the team stays grouped — but do not assume papers are required every session.

Death Sentence tips

  1. Stay together — enhanced hunters and Archfactor pressure punish isolation.
  2. Use abilities wisely — save tools for announced spikes, not the first Adversary in mid.
  3. Respect Berserk — if the Aberrant outlasts player Adversaries, the AI still wins rounds. Read How to Beat Aberrants.
  4. Frontline firstShielder and Knight eat commits so Hemomancer (~1500 P) can enable safely.

Update context: Assisted Rebellion and Power & Speed

Assisted Rebellion pushed organized Survivor counterplay — regroups, peels, and support positioning — inside Standard 4v16. Power & Speed layered boss-facing pressure and faster punish windows on top. Neither mode replaces Standard; they change what “good” looks like within it.

Track named drops on Updates, then practice the matching guide.

Invasion (removed)

A wave-based survival mode:

  • Format: All AI opponents in waves.
  • Status: Removed from the game.

Do not search old Invasion guides expecting queues — verify live menus in your build.

Juggernaut (in development)

A powerful one-vs-all mode:

  • Format: 1 player becomes a super-powered Juggernaut.
  • Mechanics: Choose cards and characters to customize the Juggernaut.
  • Status: Coming soon.

Purge (in development)

An all-vs-all mode:

  • Format: Everyone becomes an Adversary.
  • Mechanics: Free-for-all combat.
  • Status: Coming soon.

Hide And Seek (in development)

A classic hide-and-seek mode:

  • Format: Details not yet revealed.
  • Status: Coming soon.
